About Nurtured Stitch

Lou Threapleton: Textile Artist

I'm a practising textile artist with a lifelong love of making. Growing up in a family where my parents crafted the furniture we sat on and the clothes we wore, I learned early the value of creating by hand.

My career began in education, where I developed skills in guiding and encouraging others. Along the way, I completed a City & Guilds qualification in design, patchwork and quilting, giving me a strong technical foundation that supports my work every day.

In the last few years, I’ve expanded my practice by training with renowned textile artists, exhibiting my work, and continuing to explore new directions as the world of textile art evolves.

Nurtured Stitch brings together my passion for textiles and my commitment to nurturing creativity. In my small, supportive workshops in rural Bedfordshire, I offer an opportunity for you to develop your skills, find the joy in stitch, and learn to express your own textile story.
